Celebrating the Generosity of Donors Behind the Gibson Projects
We extend our deepest gratitude to the extraordinary donors who made the Gibson Projects a reality. Your compassion and generosity have transformed the Bwindi Eco Children Uganda campus into a haven of comfort and opportunity for students and teachers alike.
A Legacy of Care: The Boys’ Dormitory
This remarkable dormitory was built in loving memory of Paul Joseph Wilson, a dedicated professional from ACU in Abilene, Texas, who passed away in July 2022. His sister, Mary Lois Gibson, honored his legacy with a generous donation, resulting in a 4,000 sq ft facility for Bwindi’s boys.
Equipped with sturdy metal bunk beds, clean mattresses, shower facilities, and modern conveniences such as electricity and fresh water, the dormitory now accommodates 60 boys who previously slept in overcrowded classrooms or shared beds. The grand opening on October 25 marked a new chapter of dignity and comfort for these young learners.
Empowering Educators: Bwindi Teachers’ Cottages
Thanks to your unwavering support, a 2,000 sq ft two-story facility with six private apartments now houses Bwindi’s senior teachers. Each apartment is a complete living space, featuring beds, furniture, kitchenettes, and modern amenities such as Wi-Fi, electricity, and even access to educational television channels.
This thoughtful design underscores the value of educators and supports their critical role in shaping young minds.
A Growing Community of Hope
Since its inception in 2013, Bwindi Eco Children Uganda has provided Christian-based education for many children who would not otherwise have received any. Today, it serves 550 students, including 175 orphans and highly vulnerable children, thanks to the generosity of donors like you.
Your contributions have brought hope, stability, and progress to this community. Together, we are nurturing the potential of future leaders and honoring those who inspire us.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. You are the light that makes Bwindi shine. 🌟
